There are a few very special people in my life.
You know the ones.
The ride-or-die friends. The people who've seen every version of you and loved you through all of it.
Last year, one of those friends shared something with me that I've never forgotten.
She'd gone through a really difficult time.
Not just difficult...
She had really struggled.
Alone.
What stayed with me wasn't just what she'd been through. It was that she'd carried it by herself, and I only found out once she'd come out the other side.
I remember asking her,
"Why didn't you call me?"
Her answer caught me off guard.
"I wanted to. So many times. But I just couldn't."
I remember feeling so sad.
Not because she didn't have people who cared about her.
She did.
She had me.
She had others.
But in that moment, reaching out felt too hard.
And I couldn't help wondering...
How many women are doing exactly the same thing?
Showing up to work.
Looking after their children.
Caring for everyone else.
Smiling.
Keeping everything together on the outside.
While inside, they're quietly falling apart.
Not because they're weak.
Not because they don't have support.
But because sometimes, when life feels overwhelming, asking for help can feel like one more thing you simply don't have the energy to do.
I'm no stranger to overwhelm either.
Life has certainly thrown me a few curveballs.
Losing my beloved dad.
Leaving a career in HR to become an Occupational Therapist. (Swapping one set of acronyms for another!)
Studying full-time with two toddlers. (Wouldn't recommend!!)
There were assignments, clinical placements, exams, parenting...
And a constant feeling that I was letting someone down because I was trying to be everything to everyone.
Looking back, I was stressed out of my brain and barely functioning some days.
But like so many women, I just kept going.
Because that's what we do.
We juggle work, family, relationships, ageing parents, appointments, school events, birthdays, grocery lists... and everything in between.
We're a bit like ducks gliding across a lake.
On the surface, it looks effortless.
Underneath...
We're paddling like mad.
As an Occupational Therapist, I've learnt that wellbeing isn't built by finding one perfect strategy.
It's built through the small things we return to every day that help us navigate life's challenges.
That's what I wanted to create.
Not another course.
I can't always be there when someone is having a hard day.
But I hoped The Reset Toolkit could be.
Something women could reach for whenever life felt heavy.
Whether they were sitting in the car after work, lying awake at 2 a.m., or simply having one of those days.
Something always within reach, on their phone, tablet or laptop.
I wanted it to feel less like an online course...
...and more like a warm embrace.
No Woman Should Feel Alone
Of course, I filled it with the occupational therapy knowledge, practical tools and evidence-informed approaches I've learnt throughout my career.
But there was something else I knew was just as important.
I wanted women to feel less alone.
That's why I invited women from different ages, cultures and life experiences to become part of The Reset Toolkit.
Because this isn't just a collection of wellbeing tools.
It's also a celebration of women, our resilience, our shared humanity and the strength we can find in one another.
Throughout the Toolkit, you'll hear words of encouragement from these women.
Simple affirmations.
Gentle reminders.
The kind of words we often need to hear during difficult seasons.
Because sometimes, the most powerful words we can hear are:
"You've got this."
Alongside those voices, you'll find short videos, guided practices, reflection activities and simple exercises designed to support you through everyday life.
Because sometimes we need encouragement.
Sometimes we need practical tools.
And sometimes, we need both.
It's in the name
I called it The Reset Toolkit because that's exactly what I hope it becomes.
A collection of gentle supports you can return to through life's ups and downs.
Because let's face it...
Life is messy.
There will always be seasons that stretch us.
My hope is that when those seasons arrive, you'll have something comforting to reach for.
And perhaps, in those moments when picking up the phone feels too hard...
You'll remember.
You are not alone.
