About Mayari Mind

It's a wild ride!

My story is one of reinvention and resilience.

I didn’t start my career in healthcare. I began in human resources, but over time, I felt a pull toward something more meaningful. I wanted to help people in a practical, supportive way. That calling led me to retrain as an occupational therapist while raising two toddlers and managing a busy household.

Those years were intense. Most nights, I would collapse into bed, exhausted from juggling study, placements, parenting, and life’s daily demands. Clinical placements pushed me in every direction, from hospitals to mental health services to community programs. One moment I’ll never forget is almost setting myself on fire making a splint during a hospital rotation. Equal parts terrifying and hilarious, it perfectly sums up those early years: chaotic, challenging, and deeply formative.

Alongside this, I faced personal transitions that shaped me. I lost my father, navigated parenthood, and embraced the complexities of building a life I truly valued. These experiences didn’t break me. They reshaped me and taught me firsthand that life transitions can be hard and profoundly transformative.

Why I Created Mayari Mind

Since becoming an OT, I’ve worked across hospitals, mental health programs, occupational rehab, private practice, and paediatrics. I’ve been privileged to help people navigate their life challenges, a role I consider sacred.

Now, I’m taking a new path that reflects my own story, my passion for mental health, and my desire to support women like you.  Women facing stress, burnout, and life transitions.

Mayari Mind is a space where support meets empowerment. It’s a place to pause, reflect, and reset, helping you reconnect with yourself and your wellbeing.

The Meaning Behind the Name

A lot of people ask me what the name 'Mayari' means.

The name Mayari honours strength and resilience. In Philippine mythology, Mayari is the goddess of the moon, representing inner strength, feminine power, and quiet resilience.

The word Mind reflects our focus on mental health, emotional clarity, and inner steadiness.

Together, Mayari Mind symbolizes the journey of reclaiming your light, even in life’s most uncertain seasons.

Dedication

Mayari Mind is dedicated to my mother, and to all the strong women in my family line. To my cousin Gina, who is like a sister to me, and my Nana Joan. Each of them embodies courage, compassion, and quiet strength in their own way.

Their stories of perseverance and love are the roots from which Mayari Mind was born. I do this work to honour them and to inspire the next generation, my daughters, to grow up strong, grounded, and resilient.

Our Logo: A Visual Story

Every element of the Mayari Mind logo carries meaning:

  • Spiral Symbol: Growth, transformation, and the unfolding of your path
  • Woman’s Face: A tribute to feminine strength and identity
  • Ocean Wave Hair: Nature, grounded resilience, and emotional depth

It’s more than a logo. It’s an invitation to come home to yourself.
